Hemlock Curve Nature Trail
This trail is perfect for families and is part of the Peshtigo Harbor Wildlife Area Trails Project. The Frog Slough Loop is approximately 1.1miles in length and Deer Trail Loop is slightly smaller at 1 mile. The trail leads you through the forest beside the scenic Peshtigo River and past a grove of hemlocks. There is a trail guide available at the trail head so you can also learn about the many natural and historic features of this area. The trail map guides you to the sites of interest along the path. Take Highway 141 into Peshtigo. Turn south on West Front Street (a.k.a. Hale Road). Turn left onto Harbor Road and left onto Badger Road.

Morgan Park Walking Trail
Take a hike around beautiful Timm's Lake and view the breathtaking scenery or watch the ducks and loons swim in Loon Bay. The trails wind around a portion of the lake and up onto the bluffs overlooking Morgan County Park and Timm's Lake. A moderate hike, but well worth the scenic beauty. Enter on Morgan Park Road from Highway 141.

Riverside Park Trail System
Spend some time in our series of trails following the banks of the Menominee River. Located in the city of Niagara, meaning "thundering waters", these trails feature bluff views and the wooded beauty of all four seasons. Located on the northern end of the City of Niagara, you can access these walking trails from Highway 141. Take Washington Avenue east about 1/2 mile to Tyler Road. Turn left at the 4-way stop. There are three trail heads along the east side of Tyler Road with parking. Take time to hike, bike, cross country ski, or snowshoe in this pristine area. Enjoy the wooded beauty of the seasons along these trails from the upper ridges overlooking the Menominee river Valley or down along the river and wetlands

Governor Thompson State Park
This state park consists of over 2800 acres on the Caldron Falls Flowage. Head off the beaten path to find the picturesque granite outcroppings, birds and animals of the area. Follow the signs from Highway 141 north of Crivitz.

Peshtigo River State Forest
The Forest is comprised of various loops that provide a variety of distances. Offering extremely steep hills, breathtaking views of the river and quiet serenity except for the rush of the Peshtigo River. Please note: hiking on groomed ski trails is prohibited. Follow the signs from Highway 141 north of Crivitz.

Middle Inlet Horse Trails and Camp

20 miles of single and wide marked horse trails. Campsites have picnic tables, fire rings and a highlines for the horses. There is an outhouse and a newly drilled well  with an electric pump and a hand pump, all water is potable.

Directions - From Highway 141 Take Hwy 141 to Middle Inlet. Take County Road X East to Lake Mary Rd. Go North on Lake Mary Rd. to Forest Rd. 901 Take FR 901 North for two miles and the camp is on the left. From Highway 180 Take Hwy 180 to County Road X West to Lake Mary Rd. Go North on Lake Mary Rd to Forest Rd. 901 Take FR 901 North for two miles and the camp is on the left.

Bird Watching
Bloch Oxbow

Bloch Oxbow lies on a level sandy upland a few feet above the floodplain of the Peshtigo River. 

From the junction of U.S. Highway 41 and County Highway B in Peshtigo, go south on B 1.3 miles, then south on County Highway BB 2.8 miles to a parking area east side of the road. The best pines are east of BB.

 The natural area is critical habitat for several sensitive bird species. A great blue heron rookery and a large colony of bank swallows are also found here. Bloch Oxbow is owned by the DNR and was designated a State Natural Area in 1990.

Governor Thompson State Park

Wildlife abounds in this extensively forested park. Deer, grouse and turkey are the most abundant. The natural balance of wooded upland and wetland provides diverse natural habitats and the ability to support many recreational activities.

With more than 2,800 acres of woods, a family campground, picnic area on Woods Lake, skiing and hiking trails and six miles of shoreline on the Caldron Falls Flowage, visitors will find an atmosphere that is perfect for solitude, reflection and recreation.

Winegar Pond Observation Deck

To find the deck, take Shore Drive south, at University it becomes County Trunk BB, follow that for approximately 7 miles, take a left onto Pond Road and go approximately half a mile to the deck. There will be a sign at Pond Road.

Winegar Pond: This spot is a favorite for avid birders or those just wanting to take in some natural beauty. It offers needed habitat for waterfowl and shorebirds along the bay. It's also a great place to see birds rare to this region as they rest during migration seasons. 

Bombers Golf Course

This is a 9 hole golf course. This course features one of the most difficult par 3's in the area. This par 3 measures 190 yards and requires a tee shot over a pond to a well-bunkered green. Overall, lateral water hazards come into play on four holes.

DeSmidts Golf Course

The original nine holes is an executive, par 29.  Its rolling terrain is perfect for the beginner golfer, yet it is still a challenge for the expert golfer.

The new nine was designed and built by Charlie DeSmidt. The championship, par 36, opened July 1, 2000. Its separated fairways will make you feel like you are on your own private golf course; with four tees on each hole, it will accommodate all levels of golfing abilities.

When you combine these two great courses, you will find one of the most beautifully manicured courses in Marinette, County. The snow white sand bunkers, crystal blue ponds that come into play on five holes, and over 20,000 flowers, make this course an absolute must see!

Green Acres Golf Course

This 460-acre country farm has been developed into a conservation and horticulture education and demonstration area.  In the Arboretum is a majestic hardwood forest, winding walking trails, a restored prairie, and demonstration gardens.

Marinette County owns Harmony Arboretum, but the community is key to it’s success.  Many groups work to make it better each year.

Twin Bridges Park

McClintock Park 

(320 Acres) This park has four bridges over rapids on the upper Peshtigo River, trout fishing, many great picnic spots, camping, and an interesting hardwood-hemlock timber stand. The 10-site rustic(no electricity) campground is located right along the Peshtigo River. Park has two entrances the day use picnic area is located about 1/2 mile north of the campground. Campground is now providing direct ATV trail access. Water is available at a hand pump. Opens May 1, closes November 30th.

Thunder Mountain Overlook 

(160 Acres) provides a view of Western Marinette County including High Falls Flowage. Almost 3 miles of scenic hiking/mountain biking trails on varying terrain are clearly marked on trail side maps throughout the park. Restroom and rest area/picnic spots along trails. Water is available at a hand pump. No other facilities at this time. Opens May 1, closes after deer season. Follow County Highway W west from Crivitz for 14 miles to Cauldron Falls Road, then north 2 and a half miles. 

Dave's Falls Park 

(66 Acres) features a spectacular waterfall, picnic area with playground, trout fishing, and a bridge over the roaring Pike River. The park is just off Hwy 141, one mile south of Amberg. The entrance sign is right on the highway. 

Menominee River Park 

(65 Acres) provides a beautiful view of the Menominee River, a picnic area that includes a small open-sided shelter reservable for $50.00 per day plus a $10 reservation fee, fishing, and a boat landing. The park is located 18 miles north of Marinette on Hwy 180. From the junction of Cty X and Hwy 180, go 1/2 mile east to the park. 

Dolan Lake Park 

(60 Acres) provides a swimming beach, lake fishing, boat landing, and small picnic area. The park is located west of Amberg. Take Benson Lake Road out of Amberg west about five miles, then turn right on Dolan Lake Road. 

Lake Noquebay Park 

(12 Acres) provides a swimming beach, boat landing, large lodge available for day use rental for $100.00 per day plus a $10.00 reservation fee, changehouse with flush toilets for swimmers, lake fishing, and picnic facilities. The park is located east of Crivitz. Take GG out of Crivitz east about three miles, then turn left on Noquebay Road. 

Michaelis Park and nearby Little River Boat Landing 

(5 Acres) provides a view of Green Bay of Lake Michigan, swimming access, lake & stream fishing, boat landing, and picnic areas. The park & boat landing are located just south of the City of Marinette. From the intersection of University Avenue and Shore Drive, go 2 miles south on Shore Drive.

Waterfall Tour

Our world famous waterfall tours offers short and long hikes in serene and natural settings. 
Our self-guided Waterfalls Tour provides a fun, family-friendly way to get back to nature. 
Consider taking along a picnic basket and take a leisurely lunch alongside your favorite falls! 

 About half of the waterfalls on our tour are located in the Marinette County Parks system. 
A $5.00 per day (per car) or $20.00 per year (per car) entrance fee can be paid at park entrances 
and is valid for admission to all county parks. 

Veteran's Falls 
Veteran's Memorial Park is on the Thunder River on Parkway Road. Steep slopes lead to a wooden bridge and the Falls. Camping and picnicking are allowed in the Park. While in this area, stop to see the High Falls Dam, which creates 1,700 acres of the lake, beautiful High Falls Flowage. Twin Bridge Park offers camping, picnicking and swimming. 

McClintock Falls 

Take Parkway Road north to McClintock Park. This Falls is a series of rapids with bridges available for exceptional viewing. 

Strong Falls 
Continue north on Parkway to the Goodman Park road. These Falls on the Peshtigo River are beautiful! They are located in Marinette County Park with picnic areas, campsites and a playground. It's a great place for pictures with the large rock backgrounds and attractive Falls. 
Twelve Foot Falls 
Take Lily Lake Road south of of Highway 8, and follow the signs to Twelve Foot Falls; or, from Highway 141 west on Smeester School Road, west on Trout Haven Road to Twelve Foot Falls Road. This is a County Park with camping and picnic areas. It's on the Pike River - great for its trout fishing and natural beauty. 

Eight Foot Falls 
A five-minute walk through the camping area of Twelve Foot Falls takes you to Eight Foot Falls. 
Eighteen Foot Falls 

Only about one mile from Twelve Foot Falls, go north from the Park to the second sand covered road on the right. Drive or walk the half-mile to the parking area. Then follow the path about three blocks to the beautiful Pike River and the awesome Eighteen Foot Falls. 

Long Slide Falls 
Take Morgan Park east of Highway 141 and follow the signs to the Falls. A good parking area is provided. It's about a one-quarter-mile hike on a nice path to the Falls. The Falls drop about 50 feet through the rocks. It's a magnificent scene! From Long Slide Falls, you may want to travel a couple of miles east to Morgan Park for camping, swimming and picnicking. 

Smalley Falls 
These Falls are located upstream from Long Slide Falls. It's about a half-mile hike from the bigger Long Slide Falls. 

Bull Falls 
At Amberg, take Highway K east of Highway 141 about a half-mile to the power line right-of-way. Then walk a couple of blocks north under the lines. A path takes you to the rapids on the Pike River. 

Dave's Falls 

Dave's Falls are located in a beautiful County Park on the Pike River, just south of Amberg on Highway 141. In addition to the scenic Falls and rock formations, this Park offers a playground and restroom facilities. 
Pier's Gorge 

These Falls are located on the Menomonee River. Cross the bridge into Michigan on Highway 8 and watch for the signs. Take a left at the Piers Gorge sign to the end of the road. It's about a half-mile hike to the rapids. 
Pemene Falls 
Take County Highway Z into Michigan. Turn left on the first road, then at the third sand covered road past the boat landing, take a left to the parking area. It's just a short walk to the Falls.

Location - Menominee River Outpost

Paintball is a game of action and strategy. Teamwork and steady nerves are key components to success in this challenging game. Players fire at the opposing team with paintballs in a pursuit to outmaneuver and conquer the other team. Our field referee will give instruction on rules and safety for the games played on our custom field. Your half day of Wildman Paintball Pursuit will include games such as The Battle of Bull Run, El Presidente, Death by Splatter, and Speedball.

Paintball is an action game in which players on one team seek to eliminate those on an opposing team by marking them with water-soluble dye, shot in capsules from air guns. Safety equipment includes a face mask with goggles, and chest protector.

Paintball events are held in our wooded and sloping terrain field, with bunkers and obstacles placed within the field area. Paintball is appropriate for people of all skill levels.
