Marinette County has over 600 miles of snowmobile trails for you to explore. The trails are scenic, wide, well-groomed, and clearly marked. The trail system opens anytime after Dec. 15th each year depending on the snow conditions.
While you may never travel ALL of Wisconsin's 25,000 miles of scenic, interconnected snowmobile trails, you may be tempted to try! In Marinette County, we have hundreds of miles of trails of our own, all tied into the statewide system. Many of them will take you right to the doorstep of your resort or lodging accommodations.
Snowmobiling gets more popular every year in our area, as visitors discover this area's vast interconnected network of well-cared-for trails.
Marinette County is blessed with a whole army of volunteers organized in clubs which maintain hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails everywhere in the county. There are 7 distinct trail systems these clubs work to provide...and thanks to them...we can ALL enjoy the ride!
1/16/18---MARINETTE COUNTY ALLAINCE TRAIL REPORT
DUN-GOOD RIDERS: We got about 4" of snow Monday. Trails are in good, but icy condition. All trails are being groomed. Trails are open for snowmobiles, atv's & utv's. USE CAUTION! ICY CONDITIONS! We had rain last week that left the trails wet, then the temps dropped drastically and now there is ice under the snow cover. Use caution on the trail between Dunbar & Athelstane, very large logging project going on there. Also use caution & watch for equipment working along Parkway Road from Goodman south to Brandywine Road. Coleman Engineering will be working alongside Parkway Road through February.
EVENTS: 2/3/18, 20th Annual Brat Fry at Rocque's 8-HI Club on HWY 8 in Goodman. Starts at 11 AM. Club ride to the brat fry leaves Dunbar at 11 AM.
RIVER ROAD RIDERS: Our trails are open. CAUTION !!!! Early season riding conditions exist. Yesterday the south end of our trails received about 5" of fluffy lake effect snow. While any snow is good snow.... we will need additional snowfall to improve trail conditions.
KUMALONG SNO-RIDERS: Groomers are out today and our trails will be groomed. We got 4"-5" of light fluffy snow. Use CAUTION, there are icy spots. The plowed fields are still rough, need more snow in these areas. Over all the trails are in good condition.
PEMENEE RIVER RIDERS: Our trails are open. Some were groomed last night after the snow. Some are being groomed today. All trails will be groomed before the weekend. Trails are in good shape overall. The trail behind the airport on Cty Z in Beecher is closed for the season. The detour is down Schultz Road, follow the signs.
NEAR NORTH: There is about 4 inches of new snow on the ground. The groomers are out today and all trails will be groomed by late this afternoon. With the rain last week and the freezing temperatures there is now a very good base and the trails will be in excellent condition. Trails always open for ATV's and UTV's
IRON SNOW SHOE: Iron Snow Shoe Trails are in Fair-Good Condition. We received 3-4" of new fluffy snow. Good Ice base. They are out grooming today. Please ride with caution: work being done on the power lines from Brandywine to Goodman from now until February.
